The Scale and the Sirat

The Scale and the Sirat are from the unseen

What al-Mizan and as-Sirat mean
The Scale and the Sirat come after gathering and accountability. They show Allah’s perfect justice and the servant’s need for mercy.
The Scale
al-Mizan means the Scale. Allah will set up the scales of justice on the Day of Resurrection, and no soul will be wronged even by the weight of a mustard seed.

The bridge over Jahannam
as-Sirat is the bridge placed over Jahannam. People will cross it according to their deeds, and no one is safe except by Allah’s saving mercy.

Pul Sirat
Pul Sirat is the common Urdu and Hindi phrase many people use for as-Sirat. The teaching is authentic, but extra folk stories around it should be checked carefully before being taught.
Where this page fits
First people are resurrected and gathered, then brought to account, then deeds and rights are weighed and settled, then the Sirat is crossed by Allah’s permission.
Allah will take account with perfect justice
The account will not be run by status, family name, wealth, followers, excuses, or emotional performance. The account belongs to Allah.
No deed will be lost

The account belongs to Allah

What will be heavy and light on the Scale?
Deeds have weight by Allah’s command. Sincerity can make a quiet deed heavy, and showing off can empty a deed that looked huge to people.
Good deeds have weight
- Sincere prayer.
- Charity from halal wealth.

- Patience and truthfulness.
- Kindness and mercy.
- Hidden obedience done only for Allah.
Evil deeds have weight against a person

Heavy scales are success

Success is not measured by how loudly people praised the deed, but by whether Allah accepted it.
Words heavy on the Scale
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ

Quiet deeds can become mountains
A deed that looks large to people can become empty if it was done for praise. A quiet deed can become huge if it was done sincerely for Allah.
Do not become proud of good deeds
A believer does good, but does not become arrogant. Deeds are accepted by Allah’s mercy. Ask Allah for acceptance, not only action.
Who and what will be judged first?
Different narrations mention different “first” matters, and each has its own place. Do not mix them.
Salah will be the first deed judged

Good deeds can be taken for those wronged

Do not comfort yourself with worship while harming people. Return rights, apologise, stop oppression, and repair what can be repaired.
Even animals show the seriousness of justice

Oppression becomes darkness

The prophets will say “myself” and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ will intercede
The great intercession shows the terror of the standing, the humility of the prophets, and the honour Allah gives to His Messenger ﷺ.
People will go from prophet to prophet

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ will intercede by Allah’s permission

People will be seized according to deeds

Do not invent details
The famous claim that the Sirat is definitely “thinner than hair and sharper than a sword” is widely repeated. For a teaching page, do not present it as the main authentic wording unless using verified reports and scholarly grading. Stick to established hadith about the bridge, hooks, deeds, and Allah’s saving mercy.
What helps the Scale and the crossing?
The believer prepares before seeing the Scale and Sirat: worship, repentance, justice, and sincere hidden deeds.
Protect prayer
Salah is the first deed a servant is called to account for. Guard it carefully and return to it without delay.
Keep tawheed clean
No deed is safe if a person destroys the foundation of worship. Worship Allah alone and avoid shirk.
Make rights light now
Repay debts, return trusts, seek forgiveness, and stop harming people before the Day becomes heavy.
Guard speech
Backbiting, slander, insults, false accusations, and cruel jokes are not “just words.” They can become claims against a person.
Do private good
Hidden charity, private repentance, secret dua, and silent patience train the soul to seek Allah, not applause.
Ask for easy reckoning
The believer acts, repents, and begs Allah for mercy instead of relying on himself.

اللَّهُمَّ حَاسِبْنِي حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
Allahumma hasibni hisaban yasira.

Qur’anic repentance
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Do not leave me to myself
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ

Wrong claims people make about the Scale and Sirat
Correct belief protects the page from casual claims, folk additions, and false confidence.
“Good people never need to fear the Sirat.”
Wrong. The prophets themselves will be saying, “O Allah, save, save.” Fear and hope must stay together.
“If I pray, harming people will not matter.”
Wrong. The bankrupt person had prayer, fasting, and charity, yet lost deeds because of people’s rights.
“Allah will ignore small sins.”
Do not speak without knowledge. Allah forgives whom He wills, but the Qur’an says atom-weight evil will be seen.
“Every famous religious figure is safe.”
Wrong. Sincerity matters. Deeds done for praise can become a disaster.
“Pul Sirat has seven fixed checkpoints with exact questions.”
Do not teach this as authentic unless a reliable scholar verifies the report. Stick to the established hadith about the bridge, hooks, deeds, and Allah’s saving mercy.
“If someone wronged me, I can become cruel back.”
Wrong. Seek justice in halal ways, make dua, and protect your own Scale from revenge, slander, and transgression.
