Allah existed before everything
- Allah is not part of creation. He is the Creator, not created, not born, not dependent, and not in need of anything He made.
- There was nothing before Him. Before the heavens and earth, before time as humans measure it, before angels, jinn, humans, stars, mountains, and seas, there was Allah.
- Allah is al-Awwal. He is the First, meaning there is nothing before Him.
- Allah is al-Akhir. He is the Last, meaning nothing remains after Him in the way creation ends and changes.
- Allah is az-Zahir and al-Batin. He is above all and near by His knowledge, hearing, seeing, power, and perfect control. We affirm what Allah revealed without imagining the how.
- This protects the heart from confusion. Creation has a beginning, but Allah does not. Creation changes, but Allah does not need creation to complete Him.
