The Light
سُورَةٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهَا وَفَرَضْنَـٰهَا وَأَنزَلْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَـٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ١
Suratun anzalnaha wa faradnaha wa anzalna fiha ayatim-bayyinati la‘allakum tadhakkarun.
This is a surah which We have sent down and made obligatory, and We have sent down in it clear verses so that you may take reminder.

Simple Explanation

ٱلزَّانِيَةُ وَٱلزَّانِى فَٱجْلِدُوا۟ كُلَّ وَٰحِدٍۢ مِّنْهُمَا مِا۟ئَةَ جَلْدَةٍۢ ۖ وَلَا تَأْخُذْكُم بِهِمَا رَأْفَةٌۭ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۖ وَلْيَشْهَدْ عَذَابَهُمَا طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٢
Az-zaniyatu waz-zani fajlidu kulla wahidim-minhuma mi’ata jaldah, wa la ta’khudhkum bihima ra’fatun fi dinillahi in kuntum tu’minuna billahi wal-yawmil-akhir, wal-yashhad ‘adhabahuma ta’ifatum-minal-mu’minin.
The woman and the man guilty of zina, flog each one of them one hundred lashes. And do not let pity for them prevent you from carrying out Allah’s religion, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment.

Simple Explanation
This ayah gives the legal punishment for zina under Islamic law. Such punishments are not carried out by individuals, families, mobs, or personal anger. They belong only to a legitimate Islamic judicial authority with strict rules of evidence and due process.

ٱلزَّانِى لَا يَنكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوْ مُشْرِكَةًۭ وَٱلزَّانِيَةُ لَا يَنكِحُهَآ إِلَّا زَانٍ أَوْ مُشْرِكٌۭ ۚ وَحُرِّمَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٣
Az-zani la yankihu illa zaniyatan aw mushrikah, waz-zaniyatu la yankihuha illa zanin aw mushrik, wa hurrima dhalika ‘alal-mu’minin.
The man guilty of zina does not marry except a woman guilty of zina or a mushrikah, and the woman guilty of zina is not married except by a man guilty of zina or a mushrik. And that has been forbidden for the believers.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُوا۟ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَآءَ فَٱجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَـٰنِينَ جَلْدَةًۭ وَلَا تَقْبَلُوا۟ لَهُمْ شَهَـٰدَةً أَبَدًۭا ۚ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ ٤
Walladhina yarmunal-muhsanati thumma lam ya’tu bi arba‘ati shuhada’a fajliduhum thamanina jaldatan wa la taqbalu lahum shahadatan abada, wa ula’ika humul-fasiqun.
And those who accuse chaste women and then do not bring four witnesses, flog them eighty lashes and never accept their testimony. And those are the defiantly disobedient.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ٥
Illal-ladhina tabu mim-ba‘di dhalika wa aslaha, fa innallaha Ghafurur-Rahim.
Except those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ شُهَدَآءُ إِلَّآ أَنفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَـٰدَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَـٰدَٰتٍۭ بِٱللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ٦

Wal-khamisatu anna la‘natallahi ‘alaihi in kana minal-kadhibin.
And the fifth testimony is that Allah’s curse be upon him if he is among the liars.

وَيَدْرَؤُا۟ عَنْهَا ٱلْعَذَابَ أَن تَشْهَدَ أَرْبَعَ شَهَـٰدَٰتٍۭ بِٱللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ٨
Wa yadra’u ‘anhal-‘adhaba an tashhada arba‘a shahadatin billahi innahu laminal-kadhibin.
But it will avert the punishment from her if she testifies four testimonies by Allah that he is surely among the liars.

Wa lawla fadlullahi ‘alaikum wa rahmatuhu wa annallaha Tawwabun Hakim.
And if not for Allah’s favor upon you and His mercy, and that Allah is Accepting of repentance, All-Wise...

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو بِٱلْإِفْكِ عُصْبَةٌۭ مِّنكُمْ ۚ لَا تَحْسَبُوهُ شَرًّۭا لَّكُم ۖ بَلْ هُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ ۚ لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُم مَّا ٱكْتَسَبَ مِنَ ٱلْإِثْمِ ۚ وَٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ كِبْرَهُۥ مِنْهُمْ لَهُۥ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ ١١
Innal-ladhina ja’u bil-ifki ‘usbatum-minkum, la tahsabuhu sharral-lakum, bal huwa khairul-lakum, likullimri’im-minhum maktasaba minal-ithm, walladhi tawalla kibrahu minhum lahu ‘adhabun ‘azim.
Indeed, those who came with the false accusation are a group from among you. Do not think it is bad for you; rather, it is good for you. For every person among them is what he earned of sin, and the one who took the major part of it will have a great punishment.

Simple Explanation
This ayah refers to the serious false accusation spread against the Mother of the Believers, Aisha رضي الله عنها. Allah Himself declared it false and exposed the danger of slander.
Allah tells the believers not to think this event was only bad for them. Though painful, it brought important guidance: the honor of Aisha رضي الله عنها was defended by revelation, and the Ummah was taught how dangerous rumors are.
Every person involved earned a share of sin according to their role. The one who led and carried the biggest part of the slander will face a great punishment. The ayah teaches that spreading lies is never light in the sight of Allah.

A rumor may travel through tongues, but its weight is carried on the Day of Judgment.
Say in your heart: Ya Allah, protect my tongue from slander and protect the honor of the believers.
لَّوْلَآ إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ خَيْرًۭا وَقَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَآ إِفْكٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ١٢
Lawla idh sami‘tumuhu zannal-mu’minuna wal-mu’minatu bi anfusihim khairaw-wa qalu hadha ifkum-mubin.
Why, when you heard it, did the believing men and believing women not think good of their own people and say, “This is a clear falsehood”?

Lawla ja’u ‘alaihi bi arba‘ati shuhada’, fa idh lam ya’tu bish-shuhada’i fa ula’ika ‘indallahi humul-kadhibun.
Why did they not bring four witnesses for it? Since they did not bring the witnesses, then those people, in the sight of Allah, are the liars.

Ya ayyuhal-ladhina amanu la tattabi‘u khutuwatish-shaytan, wa may-yattabi‘ khutuwatish-shaytani fa innahu ya’muru bil-fahsha’i wal-munkar, wa lawla fadlullahi ‘alaikum wa rahmatuhu ma zaka minkum-min ahadin abada, wa lakinnallaha yuzakki may-yasha’, wallahu Sami‘un ‘Alim.

Wa la ya’tali ulul-fadli minkum was-sa‘ati an yu’tu ulil-qurba wal-masakina wal-muhajirina fi sabilillah, walya‘fu walyasfahu, ala tuhibbuna ay-yaghfirallahu lakum, wallahu Ghafurur-Rahim.
And let not those of virtue and wealth among you swear not to give to relatives, the needy, and the emigrants in the path of Allah. Let them pardon and overlook. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

وَأَنكِحُوا۟ ٱلْأَيَـٰمَىٰ مِنكُمْ وَٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ مِنْ عِبَادِكُمْ وَإِمَآئِكُمْ ۚ إِن يَكُونُوا۟ فُقَرَآءَ يُغْنِهِمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ ٣٢
Wa ankihul-ayama minkum was-salihina min ‘ibadikum wa ima’ikum, iy-yakunu fuqara’a yughnihimullahu min fadlih, wallahu Wasi‘un ‘Alim.
And marry off the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male servants and female servants. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty. And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.

Walyasta‘fifil-ladhina la yajiduna nikahan hatta yughniyahumullahu min fadlih, walladhina yabtaghunal-kitaba mimma malakat aimanukum fakatibuhum in ‘alimtum fihim khaira, wa atuhum mim-malillahil-ladhi atakum, wa la tukrihu fatayatikum ‘alal-bigha’i in aradna tahassunal-lit abtaghu ‘aradal-hayatid-dunya, wa may-yukrihhunna fa innallaha mim-ba‘di ikrahihinna Ghafurur-Rahim.
And let those who cannot find means for marriage remain chaste until Allah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract for freedom from those whom your right hands possess, then make such a contract with them if you know goodness in them, and give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, seeking the temporary goods of worldly life. And whoever compels them, then indeed Allah, after their compulsion, is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Allahu nurus-samawati wal-ard, mathalu nurihi kamishkatin fiha misbah, al-misbahu fi zujajah, az-zujajatu ka’annaha kawkabun durriyyuy-yuqadu min shajaratin mubarakatin zaitunatil-la sharqiyyatiw-wa la gharbiyyah, yakadu zaituha yudi’u wa law lam tamsashu nar, nurun ‘ala nur, yahdillahu linurihi may-yasha’, wa yadribullahu al-amthala lin-nas, wallahu bikulli shai’in ‘Alim.

Men whom neither trade nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah, establishing prayer, and giving zakah. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will turn about.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ كَسَرَابٍۭ بِقِيعَةٍۢ يَحْسَبُهُ ٱلظَّمْـَٔانُ مَآءً حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَهُۥ لَمْ يَجِدْهُ شَيْـًۭٔا وَوَجَدَ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥ فَوَفَّىٰهُ حِسَابَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ٣٩
Walladhina kafaru a‘maluhum kasarabim-biqi‘atin yahsabuhuz-zam’anu ma’a, hatta idha ja’ahu lam yajidhu shai’aw-wa wajadallaha ‘indahu fawaffahu hisabah, wallahu sari‘ul-hisab.
But those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty person thinks is water, until when he comes to it, he finds it to be nothing, and he finds Allah before him, who gives him his account in full. And Allah is swift in account.

أَوْ كَظُلُمَـٰتٍۢ فِى بَحْرٍۢ لُّجِّىٍّۢ يَغْشَىٰهُ مَوْجٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهِۦ مَوْجٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهِۦ سَحَابٌۭ ۚ ظُلُمَـٰتٌۢ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَآ أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُۥ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَىٰهَا ۗ وَمَن لَّمْ يَجْعَلِ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ نُورًۭا فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن نُّورٍ ٤٠
Aw kazulumatin fi bahril-lujjiyyiy-yaghshahu mawjum-min fawqihi mawjum-min fawqihi sahab, zulumatum-ba‘duha fawqa ba‘d, idha akhraja yadahu lam yakad yaraha, wa mal-lam yaj‘alillahu lahu nuran fama lahu min nur.
Or like darknesses in a deep sea, covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds. Darknesses, one above another. When he stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it. And whoever Allah does not give light, then he has no light.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلطَّيْرُ صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٍۢ ۖ كُلٌّۭ قَدْ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُۥ وَتَسْبِيحَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ ٤١
Alam tara annallaha yusabbihu lahu man fis-samawati wal-ardi wat-tairu saffat, kullun qad ‘alima salatahu wa tasbihah, wallahu ‘Alimum-bima yaf‘alun.
Do you not see that Allah is glorified by whoever is in the heavens and the earth, and by the birds with wings spread? Each has known its prayer and its glorification. And Allah is Knowing of what they do.

Alam tara annallaha yuzji sahaban thumma yu’allifu bainahu thumma yaj‘aluhu rukaman fataral-wadqa yakhruju min khilalih, wa yunazzilu minas-sama’i min jibalin fiha mim-baradin fayusibu bihi may-yasha’u wa yasrifuhu ‘am-may-yasha’, yakadu sana barqihi yadhhabu bil-absar.
Do you not see that Allah drives clouds, then joins them together, then makes them into layers, and you see the rain come out from within them? And He sends down from the sky, from mountains within it, hail, and strikes with it whom He wills and turns it away from whom He wills. The flash of its lightning almost takes away the sight.

Wa aqsamu billahi jahda aimanihim la’in amartahum layakhrujunn, qul la tuqsimu, ta‘atum-ma‘rufah, innallaha Khabirum-bima ta‘malun.
And they swear by Allah with their strongest oaths that if you commanded them, they would surely go forth. Say, “Do not swear. Obedience is known.” Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

Say, “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger. But if you turn away, then upon him is only what he has been made responsible for, and upon you is what you have been made responsible for. And if you obey him, you will be guided. And there is not upon the Messenger except clear delivery.”

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱرْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًۭا ۚ يَعْبُدُونَنِى لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِى شَيْـًۭٔا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ ٥٥
Wa‘adallahu alladhina amanu minkum wa ‘amilus-salihati layastakhlifannahum fil-ardi kamastakhlafal-ladhina min qablihim, wa layumakkinnanna lahum dinahumul-ladhirtada lahum, wa layubaddilannahum mim-ba‘di khawfihim amna, ya‘budunani la yushrikuna bi shai’a, wa man kafara ba‘da dhalika fa ula’ika humul-fasiqun.
Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession in the earth as He granted it to those before them, and He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them, and He will surely replace their fear with security. They worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that, then those are the defiantly disobedient.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِيَسْتَـْٔذِنكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا۟ ٱلْحُلُمَ مِنكُمْ ثَلَـٰثَ مَرَّٰتٍۢ ۚ مِّن قَبْلِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلْفَجْرِ وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظَّهِيرَةِ وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلْعِشَآءِ ۚ ثَلَـٰثُ عَوْرَٰتٍۢ لَّكُمْ ۚ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ جُنَاحٌۢ بَعْدَهُنَّ ۚ طَوَّٰفُونَ عَلَيْكُم بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌۭ ٥٨
Ya ayyuhal-ladhina amanu liyasta’dhinkumul-ladhina malakat aimanukum walladhina lam yablughul-huluma minkum thalatha marrat, min qabli salatil-fajri wa hina tada‘una thiyabakum minaz-zahirati wa mim-ba‘di salatil-‘isha’, thalathu ‘awratil-lakum, laisa ‘alaikum wa la ‘alaihim junahum-ba‘dahunn, tawwafuna ‘alaikum ba‘dukum ‘ala ba‘d, kadhalika yubayyinullahu lakumul-ayat, wallahu ‘Alimun Hakim.
O believers, let those whom your right hands possess and those among you who have not reached puberty ask your permission three times: before the Fajr prayer, when you put aside your clothes at noon, and after the Isha prayer. These are three times of privacy for you. There is no blame upon you or upon them after these times, as they move about among you, some of you among others. Thus Allah makes clear the verses for you, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

وَٱلْقَوَٰعِدُ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ٱلَّـٰتِى لَا يَرْجُونَ نِكَاحًۭا فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِنَّ جُنَاحٌ أَن يَضَعْنَ ثِيَابَهُنَّ غَيْرَ مُتَبَرِّجَـٰتٍۭ بِزِينَةٍۢ ۖ وَأَن يَسْتَعْفِفْنَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّهُنَّ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌۭ ٦٠
Wal-qawa‘idu minan-nisa’il-lati la yarjuna nikahan falaisa ‘alaihinna junahun ay-yada‘na thiyabahunna ghaira mutabarrijatim-bizinah, wa ay-yasta‘fifna khairul-lahunn, wallahu Sami‘un ‘Alim.

لَّيْسَ عَلَى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ حَرَجٌۭ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌۭ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْمَرِيضِ حَرَجٌۭ وَلَا عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَن تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِنۢ بُيُوتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ ءَابَآئِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ إِخْوَٰنِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَخَوَٰتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَعْمَـٰمِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ عَمَّـٰتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَخْوَٰلِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ خَـٰلَـٰتِكُمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُم مَّفَاتِحَهُۥٓ أَوْ صَدِيقِكُمْ ۚ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَأْكُلُوا۟ جَمِيعًا أَوْ أَشْتَاتًۭا ۚ فَإِذَا دَخَلْتُم بُيُوتًۭا فَسَلِّمُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ تَحِيَّةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُبَـٰرَكَةًۭ طَيِّبَةًۭ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٦١
Laisa ‘alal-a‘ma harajuw-wa la ‘alal-a‘raji harajuw-wa la ‘alal-maridi harajuw-wa la ‘ala anfusikum an ta’kulu mim-buyutikum aw buyuti aba’ikum aw buyuti ummahatikum aw buyuti ikhwanikum aw buyuti akhawatikum aw buyuti a‘mamikum aw buyuti ‘ammatikum aw buyuti akhwalikum aw buyuti khalatikum aw ma malaktum mafatihahu aw sadiqikum, laisa ‘alaikum junahun an ta’kulu jami‘an aw ashtata, fa idha dakhaltum buyutan fasallimu ‘ala anfusikum tahiyyatam-min ‘indillahi mubarakatan tayyibah, kadhalika yubayyinullahu lakumul-ayati la‘allakum ta‘qilun.
There is no blame upon the blind, nor blame upon the lame, nor blame upon the sick, nor upon yourselves for eating from your own houses, or the houses of your fathers, your mothers, your brothers, your sisters, your paternal uncles, your paternal aunts, your maternal uncles, your maternal aunts, or what you possess the keys to, or the house of your friend. There is no blame upon you whether you eat together or separately. But when you enter houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allah, blessed and good. Thus Allah makes clear the verses for you, so that you may understand.

Allah removes hardship from the blind, the lame, and the sick. Islam is not a religion of unnecessary difficulty. It recognizes different conditions and gives ease where ease is needed.

إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَإِذَا كَانُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍۢ جَامِعٍۢ لَّمْ يَذْهَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَسْتَـْٔذِنُوهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَـْٔذِنُونَكَ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ۚ فَإِذَا ٱسْتَـْٔذَنُوكَ لِبَعْضِ شَأْنِهِمْ فَأْذَن لِّمَن شِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمُ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ٦٢
Innamal-mu’minunal-ladhina amanu billahi wa rasulihi wa idha kanu ma‘ahu ‘ala amrin jami‘il-lam yadhhabu hatta yasta’dhinuh, innal-ladhina yasta’dhinunaka ula’ikal-ladhina yu’minuna billahi wa rasulih, fa idhastadhanuka liba‘di sha’nihim fa’dhal-liman shi’ta minhum wastaghfir lahumullah, innallaha Ghafurur-Rahim.
The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, and when they are with him on a collective matter, they do not leave until they ask his permission. Indeed, those who ask your permission are those who believe in Allah and His Messenger. So when they ask your permission for some of their affairs, then give permission to whom you wish among them and ask Allah to forgive them. Indeed, Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

لَّا تَجْعَلُوا۟ دُعَآءَ ٱلرَّسُولِ بَيْنَكُمْ كَدُعَآءِ بَعْضِكُم بَعْضًۭا ۚ قَدْ يَعْلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَسَلَّلُونَ مِنكُمْ لِوَاذًۭا ۚ فَلْيَحْذَرِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُخَالِفُونَ عَنْ أَمْرِهِۦٓ أَن تُصِيبَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ أَوْ يُصِيبَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ٦٣
La taj‘alu du‘a’ar-rasuli bainakum kadu‘a’i ba‘dikum ba‘da, qad ya‘lamullahu alladhina yatasallaluna minkum liwadha, falyahdharil-ladhina yukhalifuna ‘an amrihi an tusibahum fitnatun aw yusibahum ‘adhabun alim.
Do not make the calling of the Messenger among yourselves like the calling of one another. Allah already knows those of you who slip away secretly. So let those who oppose his command beware, lest a trial strike them or a painful punishment strike them.

أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ قَدْ يَعْلَمُ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَيَوْمَ يُرْجَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۢ ٦٤
Ala inna lillahi ma fis-samawati wal-ard, qad ya‘lamu ma antum ‘alaih, wa yawma yurja‘una ilaihi fayunabbi’uhum bima ‘amilu, wallahu bikulli shai’in ‘Alim.
Unquestionably, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. He already knows the condition you are upon. And on the Day when they are returned to Him, He will inform them of what they did. And Allah is Knowing of all things.

Surah An-Nur ends by reminding us that everything in the heavens and earth belongs to Allah. All homes, hearts, bodies, families, societies, secrets, and actions are under His ownership and knowledge.
