The Believers
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ١
Qad aflaha al-mu’minun.
Certainly, the believers have succeeded.

Walladhina hum liz-zakati fa‘ilun.
And those who actively give zakah.

But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors.

And certainly, We created the human being from an extract of clay.

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ نُطْفَةًۭ فِى قَرَارٍۢ مَّكِينٍۢ ١٣
Thumma ja‘alnahu nutfatan fi qararim-makin.
Then We placed him as a drop in a secure resting place.

ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةًۭ فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَـٰمًۭا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَـٰمَ لَحْمًۭا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ ١٤
Thumma khalaqnan-nutfata ‘alaqatan fa khalaqnal-‘alaqata mudghatan fa khalaqnal-mudghata ‘izaman fa kasawnal-‘izama lahman thumma ansha’nahu khalqan akhar, fatabarakallahu ahsanul-khaliqin.
Then We created the drop into a clinging clot, then We created the clot into a lump of flesh, then We created the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought him forth as another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ ١٦
Thumma innakum yawmal-qiyamati tub‘athun.
Then indeed, on the Day of Resurrection, you will be raised.

Wa anzalna minas-sama’i ma’am-biqadarin fa askannahu fil-ard, wa inna ‘ala dhahabim-bihi laqadirun.
And We sent down water from the sky in a measured amount, then We settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are surely able to take it away.

And certainly, We sent Nuh to his people, and he said, “O my people, worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. Will you not then have taqwa?”

Faqalal-mala’ul-ladhina kafaru min qawmihi ma hadha illa basharum-mithlukum yuridu ay-yatafaddala ‘alaikum, wa law sha’allahu la anzala mala’ikah, ma sami‘na bihadha fi aba’inal-awwalin.
But the chiefs who disbelieved from his people said, “This is nothing but a human being like you, wanting to gain superiority over you. And if Allah had willed, He would have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers.”

Fa awhaina ilaihi anisna‘il-fulka bi a‘yunina wa wahyina, fa idha ja’a amruna wa farat-tannuru fasluk fiha min kullin zawjainithnaini wa ahlaka illa man sabaqa ‘alaihil-qawlu minhum, wa la tukhatibni fil-ladhina zalamu, innahum mughraqun.
So We revealed to him, “Build the ship under Our eyes and by Our revelation. Then when Our command comes and the oven overflows, put into it from each kind two, a pair, and your family, except those among them against whom the word has already passed. And do not speak to Me concerning those who wronged. Indeed, they will be drowned.”

فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ٢٨
Fa idhastawaita anta wa mam-ma‘aka ‘alal-fulki faqulil-hamdu lillahil-ladhi najjana minal-qawmiz-zalimin.
Then when you and those with you have settled on the ship, say, “All praise is for Allah who saved us from the wrongdoing people.”

Wa qalal-mala’u min qawmihil-ladhina kafaru wa kadhdhabu biliqa’il-akhirati wa atrafnahum fil-hayatid-dunya ma hadha illa basharum-mithlukum ya’kulu mimma ta’kuluna minhu wa yashrabu mimma tashrabun.
And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved, denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had given luxury in the worldly life said, “This is nothing but a human being like you. He eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.”

Wa law rahimnahum wa kashafna ma bihim min durril-lalajju fi tughyanihim ya‘mahun.
And if We had mercy on them and removed what was upon them of harm, they would surely persist in their rebellion, wandering blindly.

Say in your heart: Ya Allah, protect my tongue from mocking Your believing servants.
إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ ١١١
Inni jazaituhumul-yawma bima sabaru annahum humul-fa’izun.
Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day because they were patient, and they are the successful ones.

Qala kam labithtum fil-ardi ‘adada sinin.
He will say, “How many years did you remain on the earth?”

Qalu labithna yawman aw ba‘da yawmin fas’alil-‘addin.
They will say, “We remained a day or part of a day, so ask those who count.”

Afahasibtum annama khalaqnakum ‘abathaw-wa annakum ilaina la turja‘un.
Then did you think that We created you without purpose and that you would not be returned to Us?

Fata‘alallahu al-Malikul-Haqq, la ilaha illa Huwa Rabbul-‘arshil-karim.
So exalted is Allah, the True King. There is no god except Him, Lord of the noble Throne.

وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ١١٧
Wa may-yad‘u ma‘allahi ilahan akhara la burhana lahu bihi fa innama hisabuhu ‘inda Rabbih, innahu la yuflihul-kafirun.
And whoever calls upon another god along with Allah, for which he has no proof, then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.

Simple Explanation
