How to look at mountains, seas, and rivers as signs of Allah
- These are not random decorations on earth. Allah mentions mountains, seas, rivers, paths, and ships as signs that point to His power, mercy, planning, and lordship. Reference: Qur’an 16:15 mentions firm mountains, rivers, and pathways so people may be guided.
- The believer reflects without inventing details. We believe what Allah said and avoid turning every verse into forced science claims or dramatic internet theories. Reference: Qur’an 3:190-191 praises those who reflect on the creation of the heavens and earth and say that Allah did not create this without purpose.
- The Qur’an uses the earth itself as a reminder of tawhid. Allah asks who made the earth stable, placed rivers within it, placed firm mountains, and put a barrier between the seas. Reference: Qur’an 27:61 asks whether there is any deity with Allah after mentioning the stable earth, rivers, firm mountains, and barrier between seas.
