When rain begins
اللَّهُمَّ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا
Transliteration: Allahumma sayyiban nafi‘an.
Meaning: O Allah, make it a beneficial downpour.
When: When rain begins or when you see rainfall.

After rain
مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ
Transliteration: Mutirna bifadlillahi wa rahmatih.
Meaning: We have been given rain by Allah’s grace and mercy.
When: After rain, while thanking Allah for the blessing.

When rain becomes harmful
اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلَا عَلَيْنَا
Transliteration: Allahumma hawalayna wa la ‘alayna.
Meaning: O Allah, around us and not upon us.
When: During excessive rain, flooding, or harm from heavy rainfall.

When strong wind blows
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ
Transliteration: Allahumma inni as’aluka khayraha, wa khayra ma fiha, wa khayra ma ursilat bihi, wa a‘udhu bika min sharriha, wa sharri ma fiha, wa sharri ma ursilat bihi.
Meaning: O Allah, I ask You for its good, the good within it, and the good it was sent with; and I seek refuge in You from its harm, the harm within it, and the harm it was sent with.
When: During stormy or strong wind.

When reflecting on creation
رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Transliteration: Rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batilan, subhanaka faqina ‘adhaban-nar.
Meaning: Our Lord, You did not create this without purpose. Glory be to You, so protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
When: When reflecting on Allah’s signs in the heavens and earth.

Morning dua for knowledge, provision, and deeds
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
Transliteration: Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi‘an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.
Meaning: O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.
When: In the morning, and whenever asking Allah to bless knowledge, provision, and action.
