A Landslide in the West

The Prophet ﷺ mentioned land-sliding in three places among the ten major signs before the Hour: one in the east, one in the west, and one in the Arabian Peninsula. The landslide in the west is therefore not an ordinary news event being guessed at by people, but a real sign from the unseen that Allah will bring when He wills.

The hadith does not name a country, city, mountain range, sea coast, date, or exact people affected. It gives us the direction and the certainty of the sign. That is enough for belief, and it is also the boundary where careful teaching should stop.

The three landslides are often discussed together because they appear together in the hadith. But in the authentic list of ten signs, they are counted as three separate signs: east, west, and the Arabian Peninsula.

The lesson is not fear without direction. The lesson is humility, repentance, and preparation. When Allah tells us about the unseen, the wise heart does not chase every rumour. It returns to Allah before the signs arrive.
