Surah Al-Jinn

Surah Al-Jinn

The Jinn

الجن
Arabic Name الجن
Meaning of the Name The Jinn
Revealed In Makkah
Type Makki Surah
Total Ayahs 28 Ayahs
Main Message A Makki surah that reveals how a group of jinn listened to the Qur’an, recognized its guidance, believed in Allah’s oneness, rejected shirk and false claims about Allah, and warned that mosques and worship belong only to Allah.
Why It Matters It teaches that the Qur’an guides both humans and jinn, that unseen beings also face accountability, that seeking protection through jinn increases harm, and that no one controls guidance, harm, benefit, or unseen knowledge except Allah.
Purpose It trains the heart to believe in the unseen correctly, worship Allah alone, avoid superstition and false reliance on jinn, honor the Qur’an, and understand that all unseen knowledge belongs to Allah unless He reveals what He wills to His messengers.
