Ayah 1

Surah Al-Bayyinah

لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ

Transliteration

Lam yakunil-lazeena kafaroo min ahlil-kitaabi wal-mushrikeena munfakkeena hattaa ta’tiyahumul-bayyinah

English Translation

Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to separate until there came to them the clear proof.

Surah Al-Bayyinah

رَسُولٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً

Transliteration

Rasoolum-minallaahi yatloo suhufam-mutahharah

English Translation

A messenger from Allah reciting purified pages.

Surah Al-Bayyinah

فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ

Transliteration

Feehaa kutubun qayyimah

English Translation

Within them are correct writings.

Ayah 4

Surah Al-Bayyinah

وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ

Transliteration

Wa maa tafarraqal-lazeena ootul-kitaaba illaa mim ba‘di maa jaaa’at-humul-bayyinah

English Translation

And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after the clear proof had come to them.

Ayah 5

Surah Al-Bayyinah

وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ

Transliteration

Wa maaa umirooo illaa liya‘budullaaha mukhliseena lahud-deena hunafaaa’a wa yuqeemus-salaata wa yu’tuz-zakaata wa zaalika deenul-qayyimah

English Translation

And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and give zakah. And that is the correct religion.

Simple Explanation

Allah summarizes the core of true religion: worship Allah alone with sincerity, incline toward truth, establish prayer, and give zakah.

This shows that religion is not complicated at its foundation. It is sincere worship of Allah joined with prayer, purification, and service.

The ayah teaches that outward acts must be connected to inner sincerity. Worship without sincerity loses its soul.

Ayah 6

Surah Al-Bayyinah

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ

Transliteration

Innal-lazeena kafaroo min ahlil-kitaabi wal-mushrikeena fee naari jahannama khaalideena feehaa; ulaaa’ika hum sharrul-bariyyah

English Translation

Indeed, those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the Fire of Hell, abiding therein. Those are the worst of creatures.

Surah Al-Bayyinah

Innal-lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus-saalihaati ulaaa’ika hum khairul-bariyyah

English Translation

Ayah 8

Surah Al-Bayyinah

جَزَآؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۖ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ رَبَّهُۥ

Transliteration

Jazaaa’uhum ‘inda Rabbihim jannaatu ‘adnin tajree min tahtihal-anhaaru khaalideena feehaaa abadaa; radiyallaahu ‘anhum wa radoo ‘anh; zaalika liman khashiya Rabbah

English Translation

Their reward with their Lord is gardens of eternal residence beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is for whoever fears his Lord.

ذَٰلِكَ	Zaalika	that
لِمَنْ	Liman	is for whoever
خَشِىَ	Khashiya	fears
رَبَّهُۥ	Rabbah	his Lord

Simple Explanation

Allah describes the reward of the believers: gardens of eternal residence beneath which rivers flow, where they will remain forever.

The greatest part of the reward is that Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.

The surah ends by saying this is for whoever fears his Lord. Fear of Allah leads to sincerity, obedience, and the pleasure of Allah.
