Arabic Letters & Sounds

Start by hearing each Quran letter clearly. Listen first, repeat slowly, then record and check your voice before moving ahead.

The goal is not speed. The goal is a clean sound, steady tongue, and calm repetition.

How to practise this lesson

Use one letter at a time. Play the sound, repeat it three times, then record your own voice. If it sounds unclear, delete and try again. Save only when the sound feels clean and steady.

2. Repeat Say it slowly and clearly.
3. Record Check your own voice.
4. Save or Delete Keep the clean attempt only.

Alif / Hamzah

A clean opening sound. Do not stretch unless a long vowel is present.

Baa

Made with the lips. Keep it clear and light.

A light tongue sound. Do not make it heavy.

Thaa

Tongue touches near the teeth. Keep the breath soft.

Jeem

A clear middle-tongue sound. Do not swallow it.

A deep throat sound. It is not the same as English H.

A strong throat sound with airflow.

A light tongue sound. Keep it short and clean.

Tongue near the teeth. Do not turn it into Zaa.
