Alif-Lam-Mim.

Allaahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom

Allah, there is no god worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all.

Nazzala ‘alaykal-Kitaaba bil-haqqi musaddiqal-limaa bayna yadayhi wa anzalat-Tawraata wal-Injeel

He revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

Min qablu hudal-linnaasi wa anzalal-Furqaan, innal-ladheena kafaroo bi aayaatillaahi lahum ‘adhaabun shadeed, wallaahu ‘Azeezun Dhun-tiqam

Before, as guidance for people, and He revealed the Criterion. Indeed, those who reject the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment. And Allah is Almighty, Owner of retribution.

Innallaaha laa yakhfaa ‘alayhi shay’un fil-ardi wa laa fis-samaaa’

Indeed, nothing is hidden from Allah on the earth or in the heaven.

Huwal-ladhee yusawwirukum fil-arhaami kayfa yashaaa’, laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal-‘Azeezul-Hakeem

He is the One who shapes you in the wombs however He wills. There is no god worthy of worship except Him, the Almighty, the All-Wise.

Huwal-ladheee anzala ‘alaykal-kitaaba minhu aayaatum-muhkamaatun hunna ummul-kitaabi wa ukharu mutashaabihaat, fa ammal-ladheena fee quloobihim zayghun fa yattabi‘oona maa tashaabaha minhub-tighaaa’al-fitnati wabtighaaa’a ta’weelih, wa maa ya‘lamu ta’weelahooo illallaah, war-raasikhoona fil-‘ilmi yaqooloona aamannaa bihee kullum-min ‘indi Rabbinaa, wa maa yadhdhakkaru illaaa ulul-albaab

He is the One who sent down to you the Book. In it are clear verses, which are the foundation of the Book, and others that are less direct in meaning. Those whose hearts have deviation follow what is unclear from it, seeking confusion and seeking its hidden interpretation. But no one knows its final interpretation except Allah. Those firmly grounded in knowledge say, “We believe in it. All of it is from our Lord.” And none take reminder except people of understanding.

Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa ba‘da idh hadaytanaa wa hab lanaa mil-ladunka rahmah, innaka Antal-Wahhaab

Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Yourself. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

Rabbanaaa innaka jaami‘un-naasi liyawmil-laa rayba feeh, innallaaha laa yukhliful-mee‘aad

Our Lord, surely You will gather all people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not break His promise.

Innal-ladheena kafaroo lan tughniya ‘anhum amwaaluhum wa laaa awlaaduhum minallaahi shay’aa, wa ulaaa’ika hum waqoodun-naar

Indeed, those who disbelieve, neither their wealth nor their children will benefit them at all against Allah. They are the fuel of the Fire.

Kadabi Aali Fir‘awna walladheena min qablihim, kadhdhaboo bi aayaatinaa fa akhadhahumullaahu bi dhunoobihim, wallaahu shadeedul-‘iqaab

Their way was like the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They rejected Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment.

Qul lilladheena kafaroo satughlaboona wa tuhsharoona ilaa jahannam, wa bi’sal-mihaad

Say to those who disbelieve, “You will be overcome and gathered to Hell, and what an evil resting place.”

Qad kaana lakum aayatun fee fi’atayn iltaqataa, fi’atun tuqaatilu fee sabeelillaahi wa ukhraa kaafirah, yarawnahum mithlayhim ra’yal-‘ayn, wallaahu yu’ayyidu binasrihee may-yashaaa’, inna fee dhaalika la‘ibratal-li ulil-absaar

There was already a sign for you in the two groups that met: one group fighting in the way of Allah and another disbelieving. They saw them with their own eyes as twice their number. Allah supports with His help whom He wills. Indeed, in that is a lesson for people of insight.

Zuyyina linnaasi hubbush-shahawaati minan-nisaaa’i wal-baneena wal-qanaateeril-muqantarati minadh-dhahabi wal-fiddati wal-khaylil-musawwamati wal-an‘aami wal-harth, dhaalika mataa‘ul-hayaatid-dunyaa, wallaahu ‘indahoo husnul-ma’aab

Beautified for people is the love of desires: women, children, stored-up treasures of gold and silver, fine horses, livestock, and cultivated land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but with Allah is the best return.

Qul a unabbi’ukum bikhayrim-min dhaalikum, lilladheenat-taqaw ‘inda Rabbihim jannaatun tajree min tahtihal-anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa azwaajum-mutahharatunw-wa ridwaanum-minallaah, wallaahu Baseerum-bil-‘ibaad

Say, “Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who have taqwa, with their Lord are gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will remain forever, purified spouses, and approval from Allah. And Allah is All-Seeing of His servants.”

Alladheena yaqooloona Rabbanaaa innanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa dhunoobanaa wa qinaa ‘adhaaban-naar

Those who say, “Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

As-saabireena was-saadiqeena wal-qaaniteena wal-munfiqeena wal-mustaghfireena bil-ashaar

The patient, the truthful, the devoutly obedient, those who spend, and those who seek forgiveness before dawn.

Shahidallaahu annahoo laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa wal-malaaa’ikatu wa ulul-‘ilmi qaaa’imam-bil-qist, laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal-‘Azeezul-Hakeem

Allah bears witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Him, and so do the angels and those of knowledge, maintaining justice. There is no god worthy of worship except Him, the Almighty, the All-Wise.

Innad-deena ‘indallaahil-Islaam, wamakh-talafal-ladheena ootul-kitaaba illaa mim ba‘di maa jaaa’ahumul-‘ilmu baghyam-baynahum, wa may-yakfur bi aayaatillaahi fa innallaaha saree‘ul-hisaab

Indeed, the religion with Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Book did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of rivalry among themselves. Whoever disbelieves in Allah’s verses, then Allah is swift in account.

Fa in haaajooka faqul aslamtu wajhiya lillaahi wa manittaba‘an, wa qul lilladheena ootul-kitaaba wal-ummiyyeena a aslamtum, fa in aslamoo faqadih-tadaw, wa in tawallaw fa innamaa ‘alaykal-balaagh, wallaahu Baseerum-bil-‘ibaad

So if they argue with you, say, “I have submitted myself to Allah, and so have those who follow me.” Say to those who were given the Book and to the unlettered people, “Have you submitted?” If they submit, they have been guided. But if they turn away, then your duty is only to convey the message. And Allah is All-Seeing of His servants.

Innal-ladheena yakfuroona bi aayaatillaahi wa yaqtuloonan-nabiyyeena bighayri haqqinw-wa yaqtuloonal-ladheena ya’muroona bil-qisti minan-naasi fabashshirhum bi‘adhaabin aleem

Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah’s signs, kill the prophets unjustly, and kill those among people who command justice, give them news of a painful punishment.

Ulaaa’ikal-ladheena habitat a‘maaluhum fid-dunyaa wal-aakhirati wa maa lahum-min naasireen

Those are the ones whose deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers.

Alam tara ilal-ladheena ootoo naseebam-minal-kitaabi yud‘awna ilaa kitaabillaahi liyahkuma baynahum thumma yatawallaa fareequm-minhum wa hum mu‘ridoon

Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Book? They are invited to the Book of Allah so it may judge between them, then a group of them turns away while they are refusing.

Dhaalika bi annahum qaaloo lan tamassanan-naaru illaaa ayyaamam-ma‘doodaat, wa gharrahum fee deenihim maa kaanoo yaftaroon

That is because they said, “The Fire will not touch us except for a few numbered days.” What they used to invent deceived them in their religion.

Fakayfa idhaa jama‘naahum liyawmil-laa rayba feehi wa wuffiyat kullu nafsim-maa kasabat wa hum laa yuzlamoon

So how will it be when We gather them for a Day about which there is no doubt, and every soul is fully paid for what it earned, and they will not be wronged?

Qulillaahumma Maalik-al-mulki tu’til-mulka man tashaaa’u wa tanzi‘ul-mulka mimman tashaaa’u wa tu‘izzu man tashaaa’u wa tudhillu man tashaaa’, biyadikal-khayr, innaka ‘alaa kulli shay’in Qadeer

Say, “O Allah, Owner of all authority, You give authority to whom You will and take authority away from whom You will. You honour whom You will and humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Indeed, You have power over all things.”

Toolijul-layla fin-nahaari wa toolijun-nahaara fil-layl, wa tukhrijul-hayya minal-mayyiti wa tukhrijul-mayyita minal-hayy, wa tarzuqu man tashaaa’u bighayri hisaab

You cause the night to enter the day and the day to enter the night. You bring the living out of the dead and bring the dead out of the living. And You provide for whom You will without measure.

Laa yattakhidhil-mu’minoonal-kaafireena awliyaaa’a min doonil-mu’mineen, wa may-yaf‘al dhaalika falaysa minallaahi fee shay’in illaaa an tattaqoo minhum tuqaah, wa yuhadhdhirukumullaahu nafsah, wa ilallaahil-maseer

Let not the believers take disbelievers as close protecting allies instead of believers. Whoever does that has no connection with Allah in that matter, except when you protect yourselves from them as a precaution. Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the final return.

Qul in tukhfoo maa fee sudoorikum aw tubdoohu ya‘lamhullaah, wa ya‘lamu maa fis-samaawaati wa maa fil-ard, wallaahu ‘alaa kulli shay’in Qadeer

Say, “Whether you hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it. He knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And Allah has power over all things.”

Yawma tajidu kullu nafsim-maa ‘amilat min khayrim-muhdaraa, wa maa ‘amilat min sooo’in tawaddu law anna baynahaa wa baynahooo amadam-ba‘eedaa, wa yuhadhdhirukumullaahu nafsah, wallaahu Ra’oofum-bil-‘ibaad

On the Day every soul will find whatever good it did brought forward, and whatever evil it did, it will wish there were a far distance between itself and that evil. Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Most Kind to His servants.

Qul in kuntum tuhibboonallaaha fattabi‘oonee yuhbibkumullaahu wa yaghfir lakum dhunoobakum, wallaahu Ghafoorur-Raheem

Say, “If you love Allah, then follow me. Allah will love you and forgive your sins. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Qul atee‘ullaaha war-Rasool, fa in tawallaw fa innallaaha laa yuhibbul-kaafireen

Say, “Obey Allah and the Messenger.” But if they turn away, then Allah does not love the disbelievers.

Innallaahas-tafaaa Aadama wa Noohanw-wa Aala Ibraaheema wa Aala ‘Imraana ‘alal-‘aalameen

Indeed, Allah chose Adam, Nuh, the family of Ibrahim, and the family of Imran above the worlds.

Dhurriyyatam-ba‘duhaa mim-ba‘d, wallaahu Samee‘un ‘Aleem

They are descendants, one from another. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Idh qaalatimra’atu ‘Imraana Rabbi innee nadhartu laka maa fee batnee muharraran fataqabbal minnee, innaka Antas-Samee‘ul-‘Aleem

When the wife of Imran said, “My Lord, I have dedicated to You what is in my womb, fully devoted to Your service, so accept it from me. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

Falammaa wada‘at-haa qaalat Rabbi innee wada‘tuhaaa unthaa wallaahu a‘lamu bimaa wada‘at wa laysadh-dhakaru kal-unthaa, wa innee sammaytuhaa Maryama wa inneee u‘eedhuhaa bika wa dhurriyyatahaa minash-shaytaanir-rajeem

When she gave birth to her, she said, “My Lord, I have given birth to a female,” and Allah knew best what she had delivered, “and the male is not like the female. I have named her Maryam, and I seek Your protection for her and her offspring from Shaytan, the rejected.”

Fataqabbalahaa Rabbuhaa biqaboolin hasaninw-wa ambatahaa nabaatan hasananw-wa kaffalahaa Zakariyyaa, kullamaa dakhala ‘alayhaa Zakariyyal-mihraaba wajada ‘indahaa rizqaa, qaala yaa Maryamu annaa laki haadhaa, qaalat huwa min ‘indillaah, innallaaha yarzuqu may-yashaaa’u bighayri hisaab

So her Lord accepted her with a beautiful acceptance, caused her to grow in a beautiful way, and placed her in the care of Zakariyya. Whenever Zakariyya entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found provision with her. He said, “O Maryam, where did this come from?” She said, “It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without measure.”

Hunaalika da‘aa Zakariyyaa Rabbah, qaala Rabbi hab lee mil-ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibah, innaka Samee‘ud-du‘aaa’

There, Zakariyya called upon his Lord and said, “My Lord, grant me from Yourself good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of prayer.”

Fanaadat-hul-malaaa’ikatu wa huwa qaaa’imuy-yusallee fil-mihraabi annallaaha yubashshiruka bi Yahyaa musaddiqam-bikalimatim-minallaahi wa sayyidanw-wa hasooranw-wa nabiyyam-minas-saaliheen

So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the sanctuary: “Allah gives you good news of Yahya, confirming a Word from Allah, noble, chaste, and a prophet from among the righteous.”

Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw-wa qad balaghaniyal-kibaru wamra’atee ‘aaqir, qaala kadhaalikallaahu yaf‘alu maa yashaaa’

He said, “My Lord, how can I have a son when old age has reached me and my wife is barren?” He said, “So it will be. Allah does whatever He wills.”

Qaala Rabbij‘al leee aayah, qaala aayatuka allaa tukalliman-naasa thalaathata ayyaamin illaa ramzaa, wadhkur Rabbaka katheeranw-wa sabbih bil-‘ashiyyi wal-ibkaar

He said, “My Lord, make for me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you will not speak to people for three days except by gestures. Remember your Lord much and glorify Him in the evening and the morning.”

Wa idh qaalatil-malaaa’ikatu yaa Maryamu innallaahas-tafaaki wa tahharaki wastafaaki ‘alaa nisaaa’il-‘aalameen

And when the angels said, “O Maryam, indeed Allah has chosen you, purified you, and chosen you above the women of the worlds.”

Yaa Maryamuq-nutee li Rabbiki wasjudee warka‘ee ma‘ar-raaki‘een

O Maryam, be devoutly obedient to your Lord, prostrate, and bow with those who bow.

Dhaalika min anbaaa’il-ghaybi nooheehi ilayk, wa maa kunta ladayhim idh yulqoona aqlaamahum ayyuhum yakfulu Maryam, wa maa kunta ladayhim idh yakhtasimoon

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you. You were not with them when they cast their pens to decide which of them would care for Maryam, nor were you with them when they disputed.

Idh qaalatil-malaaa’ikatu yaa Maryamu innallaaha yubashshiruki bikalimatim-minhus-muhul-Maseehu ‘Eesabnu Maryama wajeehan fid-dunyaa wal-aakhirati wa minal-muqarrabeen

When the angels said, “O Maryam, indeed Allah gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name will be Al-Masih, Isa, son of Maryam, honoured in this world and the Hereafter, and among those brought near.”

Wa yukallimun-naasa fil-mahdi wa kahlanw-wa minas-saaliheen

And he will speak to people in the cradle and in maturity, and he will be among the righteous.

Qaalat Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee waladunw-wa lam yamsasnee bashar, qaala kadhaalikillaahu yakhluqu maa yashaaa’, idhaa qadaaa amran fa innamaa yaqoolu lahoo kun fa yakoon

She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child when no human has touched me?” He said, “So it will be. Allah creates whatever He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”

Wa yu‘allimuhul-kitaaba wal-hikmata wat-Tawraata wal-Injeel

And He will teach him the Book, wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel.

Wa rasoolan ilaa Baneee Israaa’eela annee qad ji’tukum bi aayatim-mir-Rabbikum, anneee akhluqu lakum minat-teeni kahay’atit-tayri fa anfukhu feehi fa yakoonu tayram-bi idhnillaah, wa ubri’ul-akmaha wal-abrasa wa uhyil-mawtaa bi idhnillaah, wa unabbi’ukum bimaa ta’kuloona wa maa taddakhiroona fee buyootikum, inna fee dhaalika la aayatal-lakum in kuntum mu’mineen

And he will be a messenger to the Children of Israel, saying, “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I shape for you from clay something like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s permission. I heal the blind from birth and the leper, and I give life to the dead by Allah’s permission. I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Surely in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”

Wa musaddiqal-limaa bayna yadayya minat-Tawraati wa li uhilla lakum ba‘dal-ladhee hurrima ‘alaykum, wa ji’tukum bi aayatim-mir-Rabbikum fattaqullaaha wa atee‘oon

And I have come confirming what was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so be mindful of Allah and obey me.

Innallaaha Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa‘budooh, haadhaa siraatum-mustaqeem

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path.

Falammaaa ahassa ‘Eesaa minhumul-kufra qaala man ansaareee ilallaah, qaalal-hawaariyyoona nahnu ansaarullaah, aamannaa billaahi washhad bi annaa muslimoon

When Isa sensed disbelief from them, he said, “Who are my helpers toward Allah?” The disciples said, “We are the helpers of Allah. We believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims.”

Rabbanaaa aamannaa bimaaa anzalta wattaba‘nar-rasoola faktubnaa ma‘ash-shaahideen

Our Lord, we have believed in what You sent down and followed the messenger, so record us among the witnesses.

Wa makaroo wa makarallaah, wallaahu khayrul-maakireen

They planned, and Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.

Idh qaalallaahu yaa ‘Eesaaa innee mutawaffeeka wa raafi‘uka ilayya wa mutahhiruka minal-ladheena kafaroo wa jaa‘ilul-ladheenat-taba‘ooka fawqal-ladheena kafarooo ilaa yawmil-qiyaamah, thumma ilayya marji‘ukum fa ahkumu baynakum feemaa kuntum feehi takhtalifoon

When Allah said, “O Isa, I will take you and raise you to Myself, purify you from those who disbelieved, and make those who followed you above those who disbelieved until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that over which you used to differ.”

Fa ammal-ladheena kafaroo fa u‘adhdhibuhum ‘adhaaban shadeedan fid-dunyaa wal-aakhirati wa maa lahum-min naasireen

As for those who disbelieved, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers.

Wa ammal-ladheena aamanoo wa ‘amilus-saalihaati fa yuwaffeehim ujoorahum, wallaahu laa yuhibbuz-zaalimeen

But as for those who believe and do righteous deeds, He will give them their rewards in full. And Allah does not love the wrongdoers.

Dhaalika natloohu ‘alayka minal-aayaati wadh-dhikril-hakeem

This is what We recite to you from the verses and the wise reminder.

Inna mathala ‘Eesaa ‘indallaahi kamathali Aadam, khalaqahoo min turaabin thumma qaala lahoo kun fa yakoon

Indeed, the example of Isa in the sight of Allah is like the example of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was.

Al-haqqu mir-Rabbika falaa takum-minal-mumtareen

The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among those who doubt.

Faman haaajjaka feehi mim ba‘di maa jaaa’aka minal-‘ilmi faqul ta‘aalaw nad‘u abnaaa’anaa wa abnaaa’akum wa nisaaa’anaa wa nisaaa’akum wa anfusanaa wa anfusakum thumma nabtahil fanaj‘al la‘natallaahi ‘alal-kaadhibeen

Then whoever disputes with you about him after knowledge has come to you, say, “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray sincerely and place Allah’s curse upon the liars.”

Inna haadhaa lahuwal-qasasus-haqq, wa maa min ilaahin illallaah, wa innallaaha lahuwal-‘Azeezul-Hakeem

Indeed, this is the true account. There is no god worthy of worship except Allah. And indeed, Allah is the Almighty, the All-Wise.

Fa in tawallaw fa innallaaha ‘Aleemum-bil-mufsideen

But if they turn away, then indeed Allah knows the corrupters.

Qul yaaa Ahlal-Kitaabi ta‘aalaw ilaa kalimatin sawaaa’im-baynanaa wa baynakum allaa na‘buda illallaaha wa laa nushrika bihee shay’anw-wa laa yattakhidha ba‘dunaa ba‘dan arbaabam-min doonillaah, fa in tawallaw faqoolush-hadoo bi annaa muslimoon

Say, “O People of the Book, come to a common word between us and you: that we worship none except Allah, do not associate anything with Him, and do not take one another as lords besides Allah.” But if they turn away, then say, “Bear witness that we are Muslims.”

Yaaa Ahlal-Kitaabi lima tuhaaajjooona feee Ibraaheema wa maaa unzilatit-Tawraatu wal-Injeelu illaa mim ba‘dihee, afalaa ta‘qiloon

O People of the Book, why do you argue about Ibrahim when the Torah and the Gospel were not sent down until after him? Do you not understand?

Haaa antum haaa’ulaaa’i haajajtum feemaa lakum bihee ‘ilmun falima tuhaaajjoona feemaa laysa lakum bihee ‘ilm, wallaahu ya‘lamu wa antum laa ta‘lamoon

Here you are, arguing about what you have some knowledge of. So why do you argue about what you have no knowledge of? Allah knows, and you do not know.

Maa kaana Ibraaheemu yahoodiyyanw-wa laa nasraaniyyanw-wa laakin kaana haneefam-muslimanw-wa maa kaana minal-mushrikeen

Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was upright, submitting to Allah, and he was not among those who associate partners with Allah.

Inna awlan-naasi bi Ibraaheema lalladheenat-taba‘oohu wa haadhan-nabiyyu walladheena aamanoo, wallaahu waliyyul-mu’mineen

Indeed, the people closest to Ibrahim are those who followed him, this Prophet, and those who believe. And Allah is the Protector of the believers.

Waddat taaa’ifatum-min Ahlil-Kitaabi law yudilloonakum wa maa yudilloona illaaa anfusahum wa maa yash‘uroon

A group from the People of the Book wished they could mislead you, but they mislead none except themselves, though they do not realize it.

Yaaa Ahlal-Kitaabi lima takfuroona bi aayaatillaahi wa antum tashhadoon

O People of the Book, why do you disbelieve in Allah’s signs while you bear witness?

Yaaa Ahlal-Kitaabi lima talbisoonal-haqqa bil-baatili wa taktumoonal-haqqa wa antum ta‘lamoon

O People of the Book, why do you mix truth with falsehood and hide the truth while you know?

Wa qaalat taaa’ifatum-min Ahlil-Kitaabi aaminoo billadheee unzila ‘alal-ladheena aamanoo wajhan-nahaari wakfurooo aakhirahoo la‘allahum yarji‘oon

A group from the People of the Book said, “Believe in what was revealed to the believers at the beginning of the day, then reject it at the end of it, so perhaps they will turn back.”

Wa laa tu’minooo illaa liman tabi‘a deenakum, qul innal-hudaa hudallaah, an yu’taaa ahadum-mithla maaa ooteetum aw yuhaaajjookum ‘inda Rabbikum, qul innal-fadla biyadillaahi yu’teehi may-yashaaa’, wallaahu Waasi‘un ‘Aleem

And do not trust except those who follow your religion. Say, “Indeed, true guidance is the guidance of Allah.” They feared that someone else would be given the like of what they were given, or that they would argue against them before their Lord. Say, “Indeed, bounty is in the hand of Allah. He gives it to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.”

Yakhtassu birahmatihee may-yashaaa’, wallaahu dhul-fadlil-‘azeem

He chooses for His mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Possessor of great bounty.

Wa min Ahlil-Kitaabi man in ta’manhu biqintaarin yu’addiheee ilayk, wa minhum man in ta’manhu bideenaaril-laa yu’addiheee ilayka illaa maa dumta ‘alayhi qaaa’imaa, dhaalika bi annahum qaaloo laysa ‘alaynaa fil-ummiyyeena sabeel, wa yaqooloona ‘alallaahil-kadhiba wa hum ya‘lamoon

Among the People of the Book is one who, if you entrust him with a great amount, will return it to you. And among them is one who, if you entrust him with a single dinar, will not return it to you unless you keep standing over him. That is because they say, “There is no blame upon us regarding the unlettered people.” They speak lies against Allah while they know.

Balaa man awfaa bi‘ahdihee wattaqaa fa innallaaha yuhibbul-muttaqeen

Yes, whoever fulfils his covenant and has taqwa, then indeed Allah loves those who have taqwa.

Innal-ladheena yashtaroona bi‘ahdillaahi wa aymaanihim thamanan qaleelan ulaaa’ika laa khalaaqa lahum fil-aakhirati wa laa yukallimuhumullaahu wa laa yanzuru ilayhim yawmal-qiyaamati wa laa yuzakkeehim wa lahum ‘adhaabun aleem

Indeed, those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter. Allah will not speak to them, nor look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor purify them. And they will have a painful punishment.

Wa inna minhum lafareeqay-yalwoona alsinatahum bil-kitaabi litahsaboohu minal-kitaabi wa maa huwa minal-kitaab, wa yaqooloona huwa min ‘indillaahi wa maa huwa min ‘indillaah, wa yaqooloona ‘alallaahil-kadhiba wa hum ya‘lamoon

Indeed, among them is a group who twist their tongues with the Book so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book. They say, “It is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah. They speak lies against Allah while they know.

Maa kaana libasharin ay-yu’tiyahullaahul-kitaaba wal-hukma wan-nubuwwata thumma yaqoola linnaasi koonoo ‘ibaadal-lee min doonillaah, wa laakin koonoo rabbaaniyyeena bimaa kuntum tu‘allimoonal-kitaaba wa bimaa kuntum tadrusoon

It is not for any human being to whom Allah gives the Book, judgment, and prophethood to then say to people, “Be servants to me instead of Allah.” Rather, he would say, “Be devoted servants of the Lord because of what you teach of the Book and because of what you study.”

Wa laa ya’murakum an tattakhidhul-malaaa’ikata wan-nabiyyeena arbaabaa, aya’murukum bil-kufri ba‘da idh antum muslimoon

Nor would he command you to take the angels and the prophets as lords. Would he command you to disbelief after you had submitted?

Wa idh akhadhallaahu meethaaqan-nabiyyeena lamaaa aataytukum-min kitaabinw-wa hikmatin thumma jaaa’akum rasoolum-musaddiqul-limaa ma‘akum latu’minunna bihee wa latansurunnah, qaala a aqrartum wa akhadhtum ‘alaa dhaalikum isree, qaalooo aqrarnaa, qaala fashhadoo wa ana ma‘akum-minash-shaahideen

And remember when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying, “Whatever I give you of the Book and wisdom, then a messenger comes to you confirming what is with you, you must believe in him and support him.” He said, “Do you affirm this and accept My covenant upon that?” They said, “We affirm.” He said, “Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.”

Faman tawallaa ba‘da dhaalika fa ulaaa’ika humul-faasiqoon

So whoever turns away after that, then those are the defiantly disobedient.

Afaghayra deenillaahi yabghoona wa lahooo aslama man fis-samaawaati wal-ardi taw‘anw-wa karhanw-wa ilayhi yurja‘oon

Do they seek other than the religion of Allah, while to Him has submitted whoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned?

Qul aamannaa billaahi wa maaa unzila ‘alaynaa wa maaa unzila ‘alaaa Ibraaheema wa Ismaa‘eela wa Ishaaqa wa Ya‘qooba wal-asbaati wa maaa ootiya Moosaa wa ‘Eesaa wan-nabiyyoona mir-Rabbihim, laa nufarriqu bayna ahadim-minhum wa nahnu lahoo muslimoon

Say, “We believe in Allah and in what was sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim, Ismail, Ishaq, Yaqub, and the descendants, and what was given to Musa, Isa, and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit.”

Wa may-yabtaghi ghayral-Islaami deenan falay-yuqbala minhu wa huwa fil-aakhirati minal-khaasireen

Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.

Kayfa yahdillaahu qawman kafaroo ba‘da eemaanihim wa shahidooo annar-rasoola haqqunw-wa jaaa’ahumul-bayyinaat, wallaahu laa yahdil-qawmaz-zaalimeen

How will Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their faith, after they had witnessed that the Messenger is true, and after clear proofs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

Ulaaa’ika jazaaa’uhum anna ‘alayhim la‘natallaahi wal-malaaa’ikati wan-naasi ajma‘een

Those are the ones whose recompense is that upon them is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.

Khaalideena feehaa, laa yukhaffafu ‘anhumul-‘adhaabu wa laa hum yunzaroon

They will remain in it. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be given delay.

Illal-ladheena taaboo mim ba‘di dhaalika wa aslahoo fa innallaaha Ghafoorur-Raheem

Except those who repent after that and correct themselves. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Innal-ladheena kafaroo ba‘da eemaanihim thummaz-daadoo kufral-lan tuqbala tawbatuhum wa ulaaa’ika humud-daaaalloon

Indeed, those who disbelieve after their faith and then increase in disbelief, their repentance will never be accepted, and those are the ones truly astray.

Innal-ladheena kafaroo wa maatoo wa hum kuffaarun falay-yuqbala min ahadihim mil’ul-ardi dhahabanw-wa lawiftadaa bih, ulaaa’ika lahum ‘adhaabun aleemunw-wa maa lahum-min naasireen

Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers, the earth full of gold would never be accepted from any of them, even if he offered it as ransom. For them is a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.

Lan tanaalul-birra hattaa tunfiqoo mimmaa tuhibboon, wa maa tunfiqoo min shay’in fa innallaaha bihee ‘Aleem

You will never attain righteousness until you spend from what you love. And whatever you spend of anything, indeed Allah knows it fully.

Kullut-ta‘aami kaana hillal-li Baneee Israaa’eela illaa maa harrama Israaa’eelu ‘alaa nafsihee min qabli an tunazzalat-Tawraah, qul fa’too bit-Tawraati fatloohaaa in kuntum saadiqeen

All food was lawful for the Children of Israel except what Israel had made unlawful for himself before the Torah was sent down. Say, “Bring the Torah and recite it, if you are truthful.”

Famaniftaraa ‘alallaahil-kadhiba mim ba‘di dhaalika fa ulaaa’ika humuz-zaalimeen

So whoever invents lies against Allah after that, then those are the wrongdoers.

Qul sadaqallaah, fattabi‘oo millata Ibraaheema haneefaa, wa maa kaana minal-mushrikeen

Say, “Allah has spoken the truth.” So follow the way of Ibrahim, the upright, and he was not among those who associate partners with Allah.

Inna awwala baytinw-wudi‘a linnaasi lalladhee bi Bakkata mubaarakanw-wa hudal-lil-‘aalameen

Indeed, the first House established for mankind is the one at Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for all worlds.

Feehi aayaatum-bayyinaatum-maqaamu Ibraaheem, wa man dakhalahoo kaana aaminaa, wa lillaahi ‘alan-naasi hijjul-bayti manistataa‘a ilayhi sabeelaa, wa man kafara fa innallaaha ghaniyyun ‘anil-‘aalameen

In it are clear signs, including the standing place of Ibrahim. Whoever enters it is safe. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to Allah by people who are able to find a way to it. And whoever disbelieves, then Allah is free of need from all worlds.
